Bang Tao Beach is a popular area with luxurious resorts dotted along its 6km stretch of coast line, one of the longest beaches in Phuket. The north of the bay is still rather undeveloped where you might find you have the beach all to yourself, the middle area is home to the Laguna resort which is home to several luxury hotels and residential estates, and the south end of the bay has a good selection of hotels and apartments, giving a good mix of local restaurants right on your doorstep. The village of Cherngthalay is only a few minutes away where island locals still live and work in fishing and farming.
Getting around Laguna is easy and free. There are free shuttle buses between all the hotels and the shopping centre as well as a ferry service around the lagoon to most of the hotels and the shopping centre.
