Nai Yang Beach is only a five minute drive south of the airport and has to be one of my all time favourite Phuket beaches. It’s relaxing, sheltered, and the sea is nice and shallow with very warm water, bit like swimming in a hot bath. The national park follows the beach all the way to the top off the Island, so it has a very natural feel, and the beach is fringed with casuarina trees providing plenty of nice shady spots if you are wanting to relax out of the sun. There’s also some great local restaurants along the beach with good friendly and family nightlife.
There are no motorised sports here due to its national park location, but at certain times of the year when the wind is right it’s a popular spot for kite surfers, and with a couple of places offering lessons, if it is something you fancy trying then you should pay Nai Yang Beach a visit..
Favourite Spots at Nai Yang Beach : The Beach Club owned by Khun Kiaow, a friendly local. It shows the major sporting events, plays good music, has amazing views, and always a super friendly welcome. Something special would be to stay at the Indigo Pearl hotel, very funky and in the high season has the best Sunday Brunch on the Island.
