I started out with an idea to invest in a property in Phuket and not knowing anything about how to go about buying in Thailand I googled for details of local agents who could help me. Out of several I contacted Prime Real Estate, Phuket really came through and delivered. My initial enquiry via email was quickly responded to and arrangements were made for a visit and several viewings were arranged. Barry met me at my hotel and had clearly listened to my requirements in our initial contacts as all types of properties were viewed throughout the island. The good thing was that not only did I see properties I also got to see various parts of the island so my choice became easier. In 2011 we commenced searching for a small investment property in Phuket, Thailand. As this was our first venture into the Thailand property market we were understandably cautious and therefore looked for a property advisor who would be able to understand our concerns, have a broad knowledge of the property market in Thailand and were able to source a suitable first time investment to suit our budget and scope. We contacted several real estate companies with the response from Prime Real Estate being the most prompt and informative.

Barry appeared to be personable, knowledgeable and patient – showing us a variety of properties across the Island, gradually getting to understand our wishes. All our requests were met with a smile and a can do attitude. Once we decided on a property, Barry quickly arranged meetings with a well respected lawyer and the property owners all at our convenience so ensuring we had a full understanding of Thailand’s legal system when purchasing the property. He became a key player in negotiating the additional extras we required for our property and has kept us informed throughout the proceedings.

As my trips to Phuket were getting more frequent, and the lifestyle Phuket offers getting more attractive, I wanted to find out more about purchasing a home in Phuket. After a search on the internet I found Barry’s web site which I found informative and straight forward to use. After sending an initial enquiry, Barry contacted me straight away and we talked about options and agreed to meet the next day to view some properties. I was shown a good variety of properties from my original “apartment” enquiry and I ended up purchasing a stylish private pool villa in a great location for the same budget.

Prior to contacting Barry, a holiday home in Phuket appealed but was always perceived as too risky and in the too difficult space. I first contacted Barry through his web site, which was helpful and informative, and was a general interest inquiry. Following a brief meeting we decided to have a look and within a short period he had not only removed our fears but also found us exactly what we were interested in. He did all of this in a polite, helpful and informative way, and we did not at any stage feel any pressure from Barry. His experience of the market and ability to listen and translate your thoughts into property options, is insightful, helpful and cuts down the time needed. I am happy to recommend Barry and indeed would not hesitate in using him again if were to change our property in Phuket.

After two kids, we decided we wanted to upgrade to a bigger vacation home and we needed to sell our original home first. There are so many real estate agents in Thailand, we didn’t know where to start. We ended up listing our place with all of them and on every website we could find. However, only a couple of the agents ever did anything or ever brought any potential buyers. Barry was, by far, the best agent we contacted and worked with – trustworthy, straightforward, and extremely knowledgeable. Moreover, he just gets what expats are looking for in a home. First, he connected us up with phenomenal contractors to fix the minor things around our home, so that it was in mint condition when selling it. Then he maintained constant contact with us – unlike all of the other agents.

He also didn’t waste our time with any buyers that weren’t serious. In fact, everyone he brought by wanted to put in an offer on our place. Moreover, he was the only agent to bring in a steady stream of buyers. And the ultimate buyer didn’t even visit our place before purchasing – they just trusted Barry’s opinion that much! And in the end, our patience paid off, as we received our full asking price after waiting a couple of months on the market through the slow season. We’ll definitely work with Barry for all of our real estate transactions in the future!

In August 2011 my wife and I decided to purchase a ‘holiday home’ in Phuket. We had visited the island several times previously and considered it an ideal place buy. The resort that we liked most was Kamala and our search was defined to that area. At this stage we had returned to the UK so I sent email enquiries to 3 separate real estate agents. Only Barry King from Prime Real estate replied immediately. By this time I had identified a new development of townhouses which suited our needs perfectly. There was only one unit left for sale and our worry was it would be in a poor position. Barry immediately offered to personally visit the building site and see exactly which unit was left and where it was located. We then decided to buy the house and from that point onwards Barry took care of all the immediate procedures in Thailand. He put us in touch with a first class independent lawyer who is now dealing with all the legal issues. This whole procedure was made ‘painless’ thanks to Barry’s hard work in Thailand. When I visited the Thailand a couple of weeks later Barry met me at the airport and spent the next couple of days showing me around and introducing me to all the relevant people. One of the problems in buying a house ‘off plan’ 7 thousand miles away from where you live is you cannot keep abreast of the progress. Barry has been and visited the site on occasions and given us regular updates, which is of great comfort when you can’t see it for yourself!

To sum up Barry and Prime Real Estate Phuket are the ultimate professional property agents. I have every confidence in him and you just know that nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend them to anyone.

When I started to look for a possible “Winter-Home” in Asia, I came across the internet site of Prime Real Estate Phuket.
